The North Hampshire Orchid Society was formed on 22nd September 1985 by a group of people enthusiastic about orchids and the society now has around 45 members. We meet regularly at 14·00 hrs. on the third Sunday of the month at East Oakley Village Hall, near Basingstoke. The only exceptions are the August Summer Social and the occasional outing. There is no meeting in July.
At the meetings, we have a variety of speakers both from outside and within the society talking on a wide range of orchid topics, and two auctions per year when members may bring plants to sell. Some speakers will bring plants which can be purchased. Monthly meetings include a display table where rosettes are awarded for the best plants, refreshments and a raffle to raise funds for the Society with prizes donated by members.
We are a friendly society, with beginners and experienced growers welcome. Members are always willing to share experiences and offer advice. If you would like to attend one of our meetings please contact our Chairman on 01189 477136. More details, including how to obtain door-to-door directions may be found on the The North Hampshire Orchid Society web site.
