In the back of my mind there was a story of a mutation and I have just remembered it.Vuylstekeara Cambria 'Plush' was extensively mericloned and a yellow/orange mutation grew. It was exhibited in the US and was given the name V. Cambria 'Orange'. I shall now name mine Oda. Mont Nicholle 'Mut'

Hi Dennis,
I expect that you are well pleased with the information that you turned up.
Please let us all know if the flower spikes next year show the same exciting difference.
Cheers, Rocky.

Hello everyone,
The Dendrobium Yondi Gold Burnt Orange X Dendrobium speciosum
Windermere is one I got from Florafest "Australia" in 1998.
Phalaenopsis stuartiana is small and this is it's first flowering.
Phalaenopsis phillipinensis has suffered from bud drop this year due, I
think, to the lack of light recently. David.

Do you give the dendrobium a cool dry winter rest david? and if so how long?
I have had great results from my D. nobile type but not the Aussie types.

David: I, also, am interested in your cultural conditions. I have a D.
speciosum that is growing well, but has not bloomed.
Alex: Since you are having such great results with the D. nobiles, how
do you treat them? At the moment, I have only one nobile, D Anne Marie,
which I have had for aver twenty years with no flowers. This year it
finally produced one set of three buds, but they blasted. I am eager to
try your method.

No I don't give them a cool dry rest, they live with my Cymbidiums and get
watered each time I water the Cymbidiums. That would be every fortnight in
the winter, and the temperature is minimum 10 Deg C, although this winter,
and with the cost of electricity, the have endured temps down to about 6 Deg
C. I find that they are already showing signs of flowering late in the
Autumn before it gets cold.

John, I also have your problem with speciosum, quite a large plant and very
fat nodules where the flowers come from. It has had temps down to 6 Deg C
this winter and a long dry spell of about 2 months. Maybe it's not too late
for it to flower this year.
